Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of the IDPS, Doctors of Philosophy will:
- have specialized knowledge in specific areas of the knowledge field covered by the School of Physical Education, Sports Science and Dietetics.
- understand and be able to make the necessary connections between the principles, theories, methodologies and practices of Physical Education and Sport Science and/or Dietetics and Nutrition, with other scientific fields.
- have an increased critical understanding of the dynamics and cutting-edge issues of the specific field of knowledge they dealt with in their doctoral studies.
- be able to apply fluently theories and/or methodologies of their PhD subject in a critical and creative way.
- be able to evaluate and interpret contemporary scientific research and studies related to the subject of their PhD.
- be able to independently design a research process based on quantitative and/or qualitative methodology based on the subject of their PhD.
- be able to appropriately process quantitative and/or qualitative data to draw conclusions.
- be able to document with appropriate practices, statistical analyses, specialized information and arguments, issues related to the subject of their PhD in a way that is understandable and clear for both the academic and the general public.
- have autonomously developed knowledge and skills to a high level of expertise.
- be able to professionally apply the specialized knowledge and skills acquired during their PhD.
- be able to effectively deal with new, interdisciplinary or unpredictable issues in a systematic way.
- have developed academic writing skills for the publication of scientific articles and scientific communications in conferences.
- have developed oral presentation skills and will be able to contribute to the education or training of a wide range of professionals in the field of Exercise, Physical Education, Sports and/or Dietetics and Nutrition.
